What Does It Take to Speak Up?

While most people believe that you need to be very good at the language, it isn't true. If you have ever seen Elon Musk's keynotes, you will find that he stammers a lot, yet people do not complain. Instead the audience will understand and respond accordingly. The same happens with me, I stammer sometimes when I speak on the stage and find myself at loss of words. But when I step down after my seminar people say that I did great up there. Then I understood why. Unless it's your english class where you are assessed or Toastmaster's club event where your "Ah's" are counted, its okay not to deliver a fluidic speech. You can get to it with experience. What matters is  the content. You can speak so well that people can be immersed in what you are trying to convey and respond to you.  The content, however, cannot be something that is regular. As students or professionals, we all know how boring is a power point presentation and gets exponentially ba

The Evening Walk

I am someone who is comfortable with myself. I'm pretty habituated to doing things myself except for few. I love walking, when it is not in a hurry. So, one evening when I was in Intermediate, my college got over at 5 PM when it was supposed to be at 8 PM. Instead of going home, I wanted to explore the downtown's roads and get to know it. I love observing things and observing these rich people's lifestyle didn't seem any different. I borrowed earphones from my friend, set my playlist, tightened my backpack and started the trek in the city. I never went across the VIP road. There seemed to be a big apartment coming up and it was in its construction phase. I had loads of time so I took the long route. Walked south by two blocks and turned east. Crossed the road and entered into the colony. Most of the houses were individual houses that would cost crores as of now. I kind off liked it when I saw this million dollar house with a Maruthi 800 car. My dad i

Successful People don't Limit Themselves to One Thing

Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla sleeps at 1 AM, but still finds time to read and hit the gym. M S Dhoni is one of the most loved Cricket players in India also plays football. Almost every successful person isn't good at only the thing we know but at some other things too. This might seem strange to normal ones because most of us don't even strive to be successful what we are right now. But why multiple things? In order to do anything to its best, you need to commit yourself to it. It might be coding, grades or a startup. Once you commit yourself and you start working, no matter what you do, eat, sleep, drive, play, its the only thing that you will be thinking. You want to switch to do it at the very moment itself. But, we are humans and we cannot keep doing the same thing constantly, no matter how much you love it. You would probably hate to gossip either. It is in these situations that you want to something else. This 'something else' is either y

How I Used Facebook for Assignments?

Ever since I got into second year, I started submitting my assignments on time. It isn't just that but I was able to complete almost all of them well in advance. I hate assignments, unless they aren't the ones where we copy stuff from one book to another. I don't write them. But, how do I get it done? "If you are good at something, never do it for free" - The Joker. Everyone is born with some talent. Its upto you to strengthen and utilise it. Facebook is something that is used by almost everyone reading this. We all use it to make friends, share pictures and lately tag our friends into every irrelevant meme. Facebook helps you to connect with different people out there. I decided to use it to connect to different people who are interested in writing my assignments. In return I do their coding work. I am utilising my skill to do something I love. No student likes all the subjects and no student likes to write assignments. Sometimes, we might like

My Story from Physics to Programming

I remember, when I was in school, my interest was in Physics. Many of my friends during intermediate suggested that I take Mechanical Engineering while my father who knew me well told me that I take Electrical and Electronics Engineering. There were days where I considered Aeronautical Engineering too. But I hated programming. I was first introduced to it in my ninth grade and I never understood the importance of it. We memorised the Java programs and put it on the paper in exams.    Today I'm a Computer Science and Engineering Student and I choose this branch on my own will. It was in seventh grade that I started liking physics. Earlier, I was interested in science because it seemed logical. One day in seventh grade, I started answering the problems in the class without knowing any formulas or proper definitions to understand them. It was kinematics. It was then that I understood that physics is not some formula-subsitute subject, it requires understand and imaginatio

How I Understood The Importance of Machine Learning?

I was fascinated with technology ever since I can remember. I was curious and knowing something gives me happiness. After 19 years, I didn't lose that interest. I am now a Computer Science student in second year of B.Tech programme. Unlike other students, I always wanted to do something that differentiates me from the rest. I decided to build applications. In my first semester, I did three, two in the next semester and only one in my third semester. All but the last one were nothing but small games. The last one is a Tic Tac Toe. Tic Tac Toe, popularly knows as Noughts and Crosses. The game is played by two players where one of them takes X and other O. The winner is the player who forms three of their symbol consecutively. The speciality of the game is that, if both the players are careful, none can win. There were already games like these and even this one developed by many people. But, I wanted to build one myself, especially where the second player is played by th

How to Slay Your Presentation?

Schools, colleges or work, chances are you might be asked to present something in front of others. For the first few times some people might experience stage fear and others may not. Whatever might be the reason, most people go on the dais kill the good presentation they wanted to deliver. Many of my friends complimented me for presenting as one of the best in my class. So, I thought I should write what I do or follow to give a good presentation. With most presentations, you are asked to present a slideshow, or "ppt" as informally referred to a widely used Microsoft product. These slideshows are like a black pen, it makes good handwriting look better and bad handwriting worse. So, it is required that you take enough care while making the presentation. First, you are supposed to know the topic you're about to present. Learn it if you do not know it. Decide on what you where you want to lay stress on. Finally, the last step should be making your slideshow.

Why I Choose to Write?

Most of the time, I spend time with myself and I'm comfortable with that. I'm not bored besides I keep myself occupied always. But still I choose to write. This isn't the first time I'm writing something or blogging something. This is the first time I'm writing something other than technical blogs. Yesterday, I was asked by one of my friends, "Do you have a blog?". Everyone feels low at times. There could be a million reasons why. The weak ones do foolish things like drinking, cutting their own arms or other forms of self injury. The normal ones cry and maybe talk to someone they are comfortable with. And the strong ones, well, they're strong enough. But not all of us are strong enough to keep to ourselves and even if you are, it is always soothing to have someone to share the pain with. Writing does that. When you feel low, take your notebook and your pen and start writing or type it. You can write your own pain. Imagine that someone you want

Edu'Nation

Lets make biriyani now. Put all the ingredients into a cooker and lit the stove. Minutes later you will open your cooker and find something that is not biriyani. Why? because there is a procedure and timing that we are supposed to follow and we didn't. The same with the student. Put all the students together into a class and start the lecture. Minutes later we notice half the class sleeping. Did we ever ask ourself why even the most brilliant students in the class fail to pay attention most of the times? As students we know what we understand and not. As teachers they know what to teach. When these two are connected, the result is very good. When not, we get the Indian Education System. " Most trends are positive, but my biggest disappointment when it comes to India is the education system. It should be far better. I don't want to be critical, but I do want to create higher expectations about it." - Bill Gates When we look into the secondary school level ed
