Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla sleeps at 1 AM, but still finds time to read and hit the gym. M S Dhoni is one of the most loved Cricket players in India also plays football. Almost every successful person isn't good at only the thing we know but at some other things too. This might seem strange to normal ones because most of us don't even strive to be successful what we are right now. But why multiple things?
In order to do anything to its best, you need to commit yourself to it. It might be coding, grades or a startup. Once you commit yourself and you start working, no matter what you do, eat, sleep, drive, play, its the only thing that you will be thinking. You want to switch to do it at the very moment itself. But, we are humans and we cannot keep doing the same thing constantly, no matter how much you love it. You would probably hate to gossip either.
It is in these situations that you want to something else. This 'something else' is either your passion or interest. In your leisure time, you'll start doing it. Surprisingly, it helps you in two ways. You feel relaxed and after a few mins you are ready to face your challenge. Also, you benefit the fruit of the other thing you do. Eventually, you'll get good in your secondary choice. You find yourself between these two.
Some do not stop at two. Mark Zuckerberg, runs Facebook, travels a lot, reads many books and learns new languages. This is time and stress management. But remember, you cannot be good at multiple things like these unless you commit yourself to one. Are you committed? Do you have a dream that you are working on? What is the other thing that you do in your leisure time? Is it 'is' or 'are'?
Unfortunately, most of us answer these with 'No'. Why? What are we short of compared to these people? Now, you the one reading this. If your answer is 'No'' to the first two questions, I want you to think and commit yourself to doing something. Spend your time doing it and don't give up. Help is given to those who seek it. Start and you won't regret. Because, once you get a taste of it, you'll never go back. If you don't start, you'll regret knowing that you should have started but you didn't. The ball is in your court.
