Most of the time, I spend time with myself and I'm comfortable with that. I'm not bored besides I keep myself occupied always. But still I choose to write. This isn't the first time I'm writing something or blogging something. This is the first time I'm writing something other than technical blogs. Yesterday, I was asked by one of my friends, "Do you have a blog?".
Everyone feels low at times. There could be a million reasons why. The weak ones do foolish things like drinking, cutting their own arms or other forms of self injury. The normal ones cry and maybe talk to someone they are comfortable with. And the strong ones, well, they're strong enough. But not all of us are strong enough to keep to ourselves and even if you are, it is always soothing to have someone to share the pain with. Writing does that. When you feel low, take your notebook and your pen and start writing or type it. You can write your own pain. Imagine that someone you want to talk to will read that. By the time you finish writing, you'll why I choose to write. It's a real therapy.
We also feel high sometimes. By high I don't mean getting high on drugs or drinks but joy and happiness. Not always, but sometimes you get happy because something you have done is rewarded. You must have worked on something or followed a particular protocol or timetable that you owe to success to. Write that. It's good to know that someone is happy, especially if its your friend or someone you know and it's always better to help people with something you know.
We all are good at something or the other. There is no such thing as born without a talent. It's upto you to identify it and excel in it. Most of us identify it during our teenage, if not a little late. There are always other people who try to do things that you are good at. Your blog online can help them. Say you are good at coding and problem solving, put up a blog and write how you got good at it. You can tell them what to follow, the do's and don'ts. Guide them. Won't you be happy to know that someone is getting good at the thing you are good at because of you?
Did you know something new like a new loan policy? Did you overcome a problem in your life and you believe that what you did might help people? You must have already told it to a lot of your friends and colleagues. They must have appreciated and thanked you, went home did the same and were happy cause of you. Don't you want to help some more people? I know even if people don't want to help, they like to say about it. Go ahead and write it. I've learnt a billion things reading very short articles daily. Some blogs I've read seemed useful after an year or so. It never goes waste. I'm sure a lot of us read a lot of things online and we're doing it in our life. It maybe so small as how to install a software on your computer to as big as how to avail a loan at lesser interest through various policies. You are able to do it because someone out there put it up on the web. Isn't it nice for you to write something and let others benefit from it? Because someone might be in the very trouble you are in and reaching out for help in this internet era has become easy.
So you think you're bad at writing? Especially english. The best way to learn a language is not to read from a book but to stay with people who speak it. It goes by the saying that language is caught, not taught. Once you start to understand the language and you are starting to get comfortable with the language, it's time to improve. When you write, you take time. When you take time, you think, which is what most people don't do before speaking. When you think, you will start to use the language in a more appropriate way. Write down stories or fantasies. You don't have to publish them, just write them and see how you learn the language better.
Exams whose subjects we aren't good at brought something out of us. The storyteller. Most of us have done it in some or the other exams and we are all proud of it. Maybe we didn't write stories but we used our command over the language to elongate the sentences or use different adjectives and write them over again and again. You can see that you are actually better than you think at this. If you ever feel like writing a story that you think people might like, go ahead write it. You could be good at making jokes, write them. Don't waste your time, instead write it and you'll never regret it.
So, why did I choose to write? Its basically all of them. I get low and high. I believe I'm good at observing things and learning them. I write reviews after using something which can help people before they get it themselves. I wrote a blog regarding cyber security and it did help my fellow mates. That made me happy. I wrote a book on my life during Intermediate and it helped my review my own mistakes. No, I don't make those mistakes. I come across a lot of people in my life and see a lot many things. I choose to write them cause it helped me express them. It made me calm. But I never published them, except for three. So, my friend asked "Do you have a blog?". Now I do.
